Big Little Update ✨

Something lovely is coming! This space is growing into something new—something that brings together the art I love to make, the words I love to write, and the home I love to build. 💛

It started with an idea, back in 2010 when I first opened my Etsy storefront. Then in 2017 I realized motherhood is the journey of a lifetime, and one I could not walk alone. I realized I could write my stories down, as life became blog fodder. For years I felt like I was just the lady next door. I was a mom, but was I really ONLY a mom? Mission of Motherhood began to feel limiting somehow, as if I couldn’t share something that wasn’t strictly motherhood related.

On Routines and Staying Focused

A short while ago I lamented about routines and staying focused. One of the things about motherhood (adulthood?) that I struggle with is the repetitive tasks. It’s no wonder my children also struggle with this! Nothing makes me feel more like a failure than knowing kids thrive on routine and not being able to keep one myself consistently. The Ongoing Mask Debate

“There are a lot of reasons to wear a mask, even if you hate it.” Eighteen months in, and still having these hard discussions with people. Last Minute Crafts (& A Favorite Recipe)

As we round the corner on the weirdest year (ever?), with just under 10 days until Christmas, I wanted to share with you just a few last minute crafts. These are great gifts, great things to do if you find yourself in need of a way to connect AND kill some time, and are super easy. Most of you will probably have the majority of these craft items already on hand, too, thus lessening any additional burden brought on by last minute shopping. The best part? You really don’t even need to be crafty to pull these off–I promise!

There’s still time!

What’s the Mission?

Hi there, I’m Caitlin: mama bear, joy-seeker, daughter of the King, and wife! I’m from upstate NY, but now we live in NC. In addition to being a stay at home mom, I’m an avid DIY crafter, volunteer, disciple, and village-builder. My mission here is to bring you some encouragement along the journey of motherhood through my faith, foibles, and failures as I bumble and stumble along the path of life as a woman, wife, and mom of little kids.
